Comprehensive Plan EIS Update - 2010
The City of Kent is updating the environmental impact statement (EIS) of its Comprehensive Plan. The draft EIS and final EIS documents were originally prepared over thirteen years ago. Since that time the City has issued addenda and notices of adoption of the 1995 EIS for many projects deemed consistent with the projected environmental impacts of growth scenarios identified in 1995.
A recent update of the Comprehensive Plan was adopted via Ordinance numbers 3794 through 3797 (effective May 4, 2006). The Comprehensive Plan was adopted in April 1995, under provisions of the 1990 Washington State Growth Management Act (GMA), and a full update was completed in August 2004. The Comprehensive Plan guides City decisions about land use and zoning regulations, public improvements, and has been an effective tool to manage growth in Kent.
