Diversity Advisory Board

The Kent City Council added the Diversity Advisory Board to the Kent City Code on August 4, 1998.  The adopting ordinance establishing the Diversity Advisory Board is Ordinance #3414.

The goal of the Diversity Advisory Board is to serve as an effective bridge between the City and its diverse communities in support of the City's efforts to enhance and maintain a healthy community in the broadest sense, whether it be emotional, intellectual, social or economic health.

The Diversity Advisory Board is comprised of nine members and one youth member that are appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Each member is appointed to a three year staggered term. The Diversity Advisory Board serves in an advisory capacity to the Mayor and City Council, providing input on policy and processes that promote and facilitate active involvement and participation by diverse cultures within the Kent community.

The Diversity Advisory Board meets on the second Monday of every month.  Please contact staff liaison, Michelle Witham at (253) 856-5709 for further information.
