About Us

Kent’s Transportation Section is part of the Public Works Department - Engineering division. The Transportation section currently maintains and operates 104 signals and over 5,200 street lights. The Transportation Section works closely with the Public Works Operations Streets Section and the Kent Police Department to insure that roads are safe and maintained.

The Transportation Section provides public outreach to the community through our Residential Traffic Calming Program, the Commute Trip Reduction Program, and the Transportation Master Plan.
