This high-energy, roots-rock, and retro-country singer/songwriter’s songs swerve from upbeat, jangly country pop to the darker, more lonesome side of Americana. With vocals that are heartfelt and direct, set against instrumentation firmly rooted in the traditions of American music – folk, country, blues, rock, and everything in between – his work has been compared to John Prine, Gram Parsons, Townes Van Zandt, and Bruce Springsteen.

The Changing Colors 

Hailing from the tiny hamlet of Manitou Springs, Colorado, The Changing Colors is a band led by twin brothers Conor and Ian Bourgal. Using the simplicity of acoustic guitar and the melancholy tone of lap steel, they sing of longing and beauty, hope and regret. Their style is similar to folk and Americana, with substance that is far more complex.

Admissions

Summer concerts are FREE. Donations of any amount are accepted on site the day of the performance. Your generosity helps us continue to offer free, quality performances to all Kent residents.   

Seating

All seating is unassigned, lawn seating and first come, first serve.  Visitors may bring their own chairs or blankets.

Please let us know in advance how we may be able to help and we will provide reasonable accommodations to those needing special assistance.   

A Note to Parents and Guardians 

The Kent Summer Concert Series is family friendly and offers some performances that are especially for kids and families. 

Shuttle Bus Service for Thursday at the Lake Concerts

Free and convenient! Offsite parking is available at Kent Fire Station #75, 15635 SE 272nd Street, just east of Lake Meridian. The shuttle bus runs non-stop between 6-9pm, arriving at Lake Meridian about every 15 minutes.
